Rockfish Valley, east of the George Washington National Forest, is one of the most beautiful places in Virginia - especially in the fall. The Blue Ridge is exactly that, with the vapors from the trees providing the hazy blue appearance of the Appalachian mountain range. Hikers along the Appalachian Trail will view this beautiful land from above as they trek down the Trail in late fall. The mythical Waltons lived nearby.
